Betty Jean Rettenmaier, age 72, of Carroll, IA, and formerly of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

BINGO!! St. Bernard’s will be hosting Bingo on Sunday, Nov. 7th at the Breda Legion. Doors open at 2:30pm and Bingo will start at 3:00pm. Cost is $20 per person. Mariella “Lollie” Derner, age 81 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 17th, 2021 peacefully at her home after an extended battle with cancer.

Elaine Eleanore Buelt passed away on January 21, 2020, at Accura HealthCare. She was born to Bertha (Testroet) and John Buelt, Sr., on April 26, 1942, in Carroll, Iowa. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at St. Lawrence Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Music will be by Kathy Halbur and Sherry Loughran. Lector will be Stan Buelt. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Halbur.

The Knights of Columbus Charles Carroll Council will be conducting their Tootsie Roll Drive this coming weekend after Masses in Breda (Saturday at 5:30pm) and Arcadia (Sunday at 8:00am).

Sister Mary Myron Stork, FSPA, 105, died Monday, October 4, 2021, at Villa St. Joseph, La Crosse. She was in the eighty-sixth year of her religious profession.

Mercedes Catherine Drees, 82, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Carroll. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle with Deacon Scott Steffen officiating.

The 2021-22 St. Bernard Guild letter and work schedules for upcoming church fundraisers are on the table in the back of church.
