Shirley Tomka, age 65, of rural Arcadia, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held Saturday, May 8th (Vic & Shirley’s 45th Wedding Anniversary). Mass at 10:00 a.m., reception to follow at a location to be announced.

Marietta Josephine (Demuth) Ricke, 89, of Johnston, Iowa returned to her heavenly home on Friday, January 1, 2021. She died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Marietta died after a courageous battle with dementia. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7075 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines IA, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM. The funeral mass will be live-streamed at www.caldwellparrish.com. A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM at Saint John’s Catholic Cemetery in Arcadia, IA. Please keep Marietta's family in your prayers.

Ron Leiting, 84, of Carroll, and formerly of Westside, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at his residence in Carroll surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021, at St. John Catholic Church in Arcadia. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Pick. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Arcadia. Please keep Shirley and their family in your prayers.
