Virginia Knobbe, 95, of Templeton, died Saturday, August 1, 2026, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. Father Terry Roder will celebrate the mass. Music is provided by Hannah Kerkhoff and the Sacred Heart Men’s Choir. The Lector is Sandy Kautzky. The Gift Bearers are Virginia’s great-grandchildren. Joea and Donna Kemper will be Eucharistic Ministers. Virginia’s grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas will form an honor guard for the Mass. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the Mass at church.

Virginia, daughter of Fred and Francis (Schieffer) Renze, was born October 27, 1930, in Carroll, Iowa. She grew up on a farm northeast of Manning. Virginia attended country school and was at St. Angela’s Academy for two years before completing high school at Carroll High School where she was active in the marching band.

On February 10, 1953, Virginia was united in marriage with Raphael Knobbe at St. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll. The couple farmed northwest of Templeton. Virginia was primarily a stay-at-home mom and she enjoyed working various jobs with the telephone company, locker, Templeton Building & Home, Manning Grocery and Templeton Rye Distillery. In 1990, Virginia and Raphael moved into Templeton. Raphael passed away on January 31, 1991. When she wasn’t able to live on her own, Virginia moved to Carroll and made her home at Addington Place and then St. Anthony Nursing Home.

Virginia enjoyed golf cart rides, fishing, bowling, playing cards and going to coffee. She helped anyone in need, loved to be a part of community projects and cherished having grandkids and friends over to visit. A member of Sacred Heart Church, Virginia was a Past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters, starting as a member in 1956.

Virginia is survived by three daughters: Linda (John) Hackfort of Carroll; Lori (Randy) Dopheide of Scranton; and Sandy (Joe) Kautzky of Templeton; a son-in-law Lenny Feilmeier of Glidden; 10 grandchildren: Brian Hackfort, Janice Smith, Neil Hackfort, Aaron Kautzky, Kyle Kautzky, Cole Kautzky, Ryan Kautzky, Dana Hasenpflug, Dylan Hasenpflug and Alex Feilmeier; 15 Great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marlene Siepker of Manning and Joyce Schneider of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as her best friend Pat Zubrod.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raphael; a daughter Lisa Feilmeier; a son-in-law Tim Hasenpflug; a sister Donna (Oliver) Mosman; and two brothers-in-law Ray Siepker and Fred Schneider.
