Early Thursday morning, January 14, 2021, Merlyn “Zubie” Zubrod of Templeton, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Manning Senior Living, following a courageous battle with COPD. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton. The Celebrant will be Father Timothy Pick. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton, Iowa, with military honors conducted by the Manning V.F.W., and the Dedham American Legion.

Shirley Tomka, age 65, of rural Arcadia, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held Saturday, May 8th (Vic & Shirley’s 45th Wedding Anniversary). Mass at 10:00 a.m., reception to follow at a location to be announced.

Marietta Josephine (Demuth) Ricke, 89, of Johnston, Iowa returned to her heavenly home on Friday, January 1, 2021. She died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Marietta died after a courageous battle with dementia. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7075 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines IA, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM.
